Kiosk Design & Applications

Kiosk Display Design

The NETL Multimedia Team uses its graphic and 3D design capabilities to design informational kiosks and exhibits for conventions, conferences, events, and even for use by the general public.  We will develop a kiosk design that not only visually attracts your target audience, but also has practical, user-friendly, and informational functionality.

General time for completion:is hadled on a case by case basis. These project can be as short as 2 months and as long as 1 year.

Touch Screen Applications

Using the newest graphic technologies, we are able to design and develop touch screen applications for any kind of kiosk.  These interactive monitors allow your audience to control the information about your project or message with their very own fingertips.  Touch screen applications are great for quickly sharing information about anything from general scientific knowledge to cutting-edge technology.  The Multimedia Team can design the themes, colors, and graphics for these applications to be visually integrated in to your kiosk’s physical design.

General time for completion:is handled on a case by case basis. We have completed simple projects in less than a week and more sophisticated projects have taken as long as 1 year to develop.

NETL Kiosk/Application Production Process

The five step process includes:

  1. Development
  2. Pre-production
  3. Production
  4. Post-production
  5. Distribution

Development:

  1. Identify target audience/end users
  2. Write synopsis of goals
  3. Create outline of goals and the method of their completion
  4. Develop scripts/programming

Pre-production:

  1. Review scripts in editing process
  2. Draft storyboards based on scripts
  3. Design interface and physical kiosk
  4. Locate/schedule outside talent for narration or other services (follow video production procedure for planned videos)
  5. Plan for network connections
  6. Spec  out  and order necessary hardware/software

Production:

  1. Create working interface based on interface design
  2. Produce audio/video elements, and add to kiosk production
  3. Add navigation for all expected assets
  4. Review production for consistency and relevance
  5. Implement production with hardware/software on physical construction

Post-production:

  1. Test final production (implement final interface with end users’ platform/hardware)
  2. Refine any errors or update content if needed

Distribution:

  1. Train end users how to use interface/kiosk
  2. Hand off finalized project and hardware to end users
