Multimedia Team Bios



Brian is the team lead for Multimedia. His career started in web design and interactive kiosk development. After developing the first website for the Pittsburgh Energy Technology Center in 1995 Brian honed his skills in web site creation, interactive technologies and professional audio and video. He developed the first interactive touch screen application for the Clean Coal program in 1997. Since then he has created a multitude of interactive touch screen kiosks and videos. Brian's Aurora award winning video productions and interactive kiosks have been used by DOE headquarters, NASA and the National Institute for Science and Technology (NIST) to publicize DOE programs and technical achievements. Brian has also been recognized by the Federal Executive Board for excellence in government with his work on live webcasting.



Tim has been part of the Multimedia Team in Morgantown, WV since October, 2002. His background is primarily in video, motion graphics and photography. Tim's experience includes six years as a trainer on the Avid video editing system as well as providing technical support, web design, photography and whatever else was thrown his way when working with Ocean Systems, an Avid certified reseller. As part of the NETL Multimedia Team, Tim is usually found shooting and editing videos and photos, authoring and editing websites, authoring DVD's, creating motion graphics and once again doing whatever is thrown his way. Tim is also the co-manager of the Morgantown Multimedia User Group.


Kara has been part of the Multimedia team in Morgantown since May, 2009.



Alec has been part of the Multimedia Team in Pittsburgh, PA since January 2011, and was an intern at NETL since 2009. He graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication (PR/Advertising) and a Minor degree in Creative Writing. Alec has experience in script writing, copywriting, and social media marketing. He enjoys skiing, cycling, and flannel shirts.



Jason has been part of the Multimedia Team in Pittsburgh, PA since January 2011.




Nicole has been part of the Multimedia Team in Pittsburgh, PA since January 2011. After graduating from Penn State with a B.A. in Communications, she set her sights on Texas and began her tenure at KTVT CBS-11 Dallas/Fort Worth where she spent five years learning her craft and later managing all live broadcasts, including the one-hour variety show "Positively Texas". After returning to her native city of Pittsburgh, Nicole signed on with FSN Pittsburgh where she dedicated 10 years to live television graphics and studio production work working with the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates.


Recently, Nicole has been an independent contractor for ESPN, FSN, MLB's Colorado Rockies, Pitt, Penn State and numerous other sports.
